21.04.2012 – Desertfest Berlin – Day 3 – Acceptance speech of co-organizer Matte of SOL to the crowd
Waiting for this event since months all of a sudden it's over - the first edition of Desertfest. Short response: it was a real success! Within this perfectly organized festival over 30 bands passed continuously the stage to each other and definitely satisfied the colourful festival crowd.
To show later, what it was all about, we tried to get the whole Desertfest vibe running around three days and nights with our cams and catching up the moments and the people. Beside capturing almost every live appearance, we made bandshots and portraits of the musicians at backstage as well as photographed you, the people, who made this happen.
So at first we want to thank the Desertfest organizers for giving us the opportunity being the official photographers and documenting this festival. Another thanks goes to the bands, who gave away some of their freetime for photo shootings at the backstage area. And thanks to the cool people, who tolerate us as annoying photographers stealing the 1st row space. ;o)
Now it's our part to prepare and edit this big mass of pictures for presentation. So just give us two weeks for the Desertfest gallery, which will appear on this site and www.desertfest.de.

The Shooting Heads
Desertfest Berlin's Day Two was a total success due to the different styles served by all the bands – i.a. finest heavy psych by Mars Red Sky, great progressive rock by Amplifier, ultimative demolition stoner rock à la carte by Truckfighters and again a beautiful intensive set of Motorpsycho.
So for today it's the last day and the line up is really promising again – for sample with Scott "Wino" Weinrich & Conny Ochs, Colour Haze, Ufomammut, Brain Police and RED FANG. So any questions? And watch out for the Dustown Aftershow with Abrahma, Kadavar and Toner Low at Raw Tempel!
Again we are on the run with our cams dressed up in white shirts. If you wanna get pictures or have some wishes, than just talk with us.

So what a night yesterday at Desertfest Berlin Day One! Orange Goblin again provided evidence, what's stoner metal all about. And the other bands did a really great job, too!
Today – even bigger – ROUND TWO at Astra Kulturhaus is fact. With i.a. Motorpsycho, Truckfighters and Amplifier. And we'll see who will play for Lonely Kamel.

Today we will capture the first Desertfest Berlin show at Festsaal Kreuzberg with local stoner bands Operators and Stonehenge, American heavy psych band Ancestors, Swedish Truckfighters- and Dozer-related dudes of Greenleaf and metal headliner Orange Goblin (picture). The Shooting Heads are the official and announced photographers for this upcoming superlative 3 days indoor-heavy-rock festival on 19th to 21st April 2012!
